A contract for 127 trains, with an option to expand by 50 additional units, was signed in 2019. The total deal is valued at $646 million. Production is organized in Hungary and the USA.

Production and Testing of the New Train

Train assembly is carried out at plants in Szolnok and Salt Lake City, with a localization level in the USA reaching 60%. For example, Wabtec is supplying 336 climate control systems.

The first two train sets have already been delivered to the city, and testing will take about a year. This will ensure their safety and reliability before they are launched on city routes.
