Eesti Raudtee announced a tender for the Saunja-Risti railway section project

The Estonian railway company Eesti Raudtee intends to announce all project purchases for the rehabilitation of the Haapsalu-Rohuküla railway in 2021. In addition to the current projects of the Turba-Ellamaa and Risti-Ellamaa railway sections, the company has announced a third tender for the design of the Saunja-Risti section. Bidding for this purchase is expected until April 23. This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply, citing information from Eesti Raudtee.

The length of the planned Saunja – Risti railway section is approximately 22 km. It is necessary to design embankments, tracks, level crossings, parking lots, fences, etc. It is also planned to reconstruct culverts and bridges.

Design work is expected to begin in the second quarter following a successful procurement and contracting process. It is also planned to announce the remaining tenders for the restoration of the railway this year.
