The international connection Stuttgart – Zurich is the second route in the Deutsche Bahn long-distance network, on which the German carrier is launching double-decker Stadler Kiss trains. From December this will lead to a further increase in traffic on this route. It is reported by Railway Supply magazine with reference to Kurier Kolejowy.

These are six-car trains that Deutsche Bahn bought from the Austrian carrier Westbahn. The first of them have been running from Dresden to Rostock and Warnemünde since last year, and now they have appeared on the other side of the country. From December they will run between the two cities every hour on the Gäubahn line via Schaffhausen.

The cars are equipped with the ETCS system, each seat has a socket, there is Wi-Fi. The carriage capacity is 480 seats, of which 60 are first class. In addition, special film is used on the windows to ensure stable reception of mobile signal on board. At four points on the train there are vending machines with drinks and snacks.
