China will not suspend freight rail traffic with Lithuania, China Railway Group reported. Messages about the termination of cooperation with one of the European countries should have been associated with information about the deterioration of relations between states.

China will not suspend freight rail traffic with Lithuania

The Chinese state railway operator has clearly denied media speculation that Lithuanian customers will suspend freight traffic between China and Europe, reports Railway Supply magazine, citing globaltimes.cn.

The rumors emerged after the Taiwan Central News Agency reported that China Railway Transport Co (CRCT), a subsidiary of China Railway Group, informed customers that it would suspend freight traffic on the China-Lithuania route from late August to September. The reason is the deterioration of relations between the countries.

Earlier, Beijing recalled the Chinese ambassador to Lithuania, which was a response to the opening of a representative office of Taiwan in Lithuania.
