China-Vietnam rail freight surged in January, with Guangxi exporting 3,062 TEUs, marking a 760% increase. This rapid growth highlights stronger trade ties, efficient logistics, and rising demand for cross-border shipments. This was reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Rail Freight Expansion Strengthens China-Vietnam Trade
The China Railway Nanning Bureau Group Co., Ltd. reported a significant rise in freight transport, driven by growing trade demands. With Guangxi province exporting 3,062 TEUs of goods, the market saw an impressive 760% year-on-year increase.

The railway route from Nanning station to An Vien station in Vietnam completes deliveries in just 14 hours, enhancing cost-effectiveness. This rapid transit time provides businesses with an efficient shipping option, reducing overall logistics costs.
Huang Wenhan from the Nanning Railway Logistics Centre confirmed major growth in product shipments since early January. Fiberboard exports jumped by 1,000%, LCD screens increased by 254%, while diesel engines saw a 33% rise.
Additionally, Lunar New Year-related goods, including candies, beverages, decorative cardboard, and seasonings, experienced peak demand. To accommodate rising shipments, an extra cross-border freight train was added daily, ensuring smooth deliveries.
Rail Freight Enhancements Improve Logistics Efficiency
To meet the increasing transportation demand, railway firms coordinated closely with clients, customizing logistics solutions. These improvements optimized cargo schedules, ensuring on-time deliveries and better supply chain management.
Authorities in both countries strengthened cooperation to accelerate cargo handling. Customs agencies streamlined clearance procedures, enhancing trade flow efficiency and minimizing delays for international shipments.
Freight trains from Guangxi established connections with 25 provinces and cities across China, broadening trade reach. This railway network also facilitated smooth transportation to ASEAN markets, including Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand.
With ongoing advancements in railway operations, China-Vietnam trade is set for continued expansion. Enhanced infrastructure, faster deliveries, and cost-efficient logistics strengthen economic partnerships and boost regional commerce.
