The second-generation inspection train employs over ten technologies to detect rail defects using artificial intelligence.
It can inspect both the tracks and the contact network. Among its features are 3D scanning of the tracks and surrounding areas, as well as high-definition imaging to identify defects in sleepers and rail fastenings.

Prior to the new train, a first-generation inspection train had been operating on this line since 2014.
In the past year, it covered 41,400 km.
The new rolling stock is reported to save approximately 30.8 million yuan (about $4.3 million) annually by reducing inspection costs and detecting rail defects.
