ČD, together with Siemens Mobility and Skoda Group, has unveiled the first push-pull train, ComfortJet

This train, consisting of 8 Viaggio Comfort passenger cars, was showcased at Prague’s main station. It is expected to start operating between Prague and Bohumín in April-May of this year, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
Initially, it will run without a restaurant car, with a speed limit of 200 km/h. ČD plans to acquire an additional 8 eight-car ComfortJets this year.

The total number of Viaggio Comfort cars ordered by the national carrier in 2021 from the Siemens Mobility and Skoda Group consortium is 180.
They will be formed into 20 trains, each comprising 9 cars with 99 seats in first class and 456 seats in second class.
Each train will be pulled by a multi-system electric locomotive Vectron MS, capable of reaching a maximum speed of 230 km/h.
The car bodies are manufactured at Siemens Mobility plants in Vienna and Munich, with final assembly taking place at the Skoda Group plant in Ostrava.
