“After evacuating over 1 million children to safe places and in anticipation of their prompt return, we set ourselves the ambitious goal of becoming the most child-friendly railway in Europe,” said Yevhen Lyashchenko, Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia. “The needs of young passengers and mothers with infants are taken into account, providing practically everything necessary for our passengers in terms of safety and comfort. That is why we have created a team whose mission is to develop and implement universal solutions for creating barrier-free and family-friendly stations.”
Traditionally, the “Together” station is adapted for the comfortable stay of parents with children. It includes areas for charging smartphones, private cabins for breastfeeding and changing, as well as a library and play area for different age groups.
The free “Together” children’s space at the Central Station will operate from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Professional animators and psychologists from UNICEF will be present at the location.
