Alstom: Modernization of Automated Passenger Transport System in Saudi Arabia

Alstom is transforming the passenger transport system at Jeddah Airport by signing a contract to modernize the Innovia Automated People Mover (APM) system with King Abdulaziz International Airport, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

10 trains will be upgraded, receiving an innovative Cityflo 650 CBTC signaling system and transparent platform doors.
Launching container shipping from China to Finland
In addition to upgrading existing trains, 4 more Innovia trains will be supplied.
This project is part of the Saudi Vision 2030 and the Saudi Green Initiative, aimed at improving public transportation efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions.
As a result, by 2030, the annual passenger flow at Jeddah Airport could reach 114 million people.
Innovia APM systems are already in operation in various countries, including Germany, Italy, the USA, and Malaysia, with King Abdulaziz International Airport using them since 2020.
Alstom will also provide operation and maintenance services for Innovia systems for 5 years under a contract signed in 2022, totaling €55 million.
