23.10.2023
This full-scale model was showcased at the manufacturing plant in Dandenong, where 65% of trams are produced, this is reported by the railway transport news portal, Railway Supply.
The prototype includes the driver’s cabin, a passenger cabin with seating, and a multifunctional area for wheelchairs and bicycles.
The first regional high-speed rail transit system (RRTS) in India has been inaugurated
Alstom secured an order to deliver up to 100 three-section trams of this model for €700 million last year.
The delivery of the new carriages is set to commence in 2025. Each tram will accommodate 150 passengers, with 48 seating places.
A notable feature of these trams will be the use of batteries that will be activated on specific segments of the route.
This promises to make the transportation system more environmentally friendly and efficient.
