At the German government forum in Jena, DSD company, in partnership with NVIDIA, introduced a photorealistic digital twin of the Hamburg urban railway, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

A digital twin of the urban railway

This digital twin is based on the data from the Sensors4Rail project, recently completed, which included creating a digital map of the Hamburg S-Bahn.

What is hindering the growth of freight turnover through the Middle Corridor?

Capable of simulating various events, such as objects falling onto the tracks or people appearing on the passenger platform, this innovative digital twin faithfully reproduces past events, offering unique opportunities for artificial intelligence training.

Using this digital model allows AI to analyze the environment and respond effectively to different scenarios, such as initiating emergency braking.

This approach eliminates the need to train artificial intelligence in real railway traffic conditions.

The collaboration between Deutsche Bahn and NVIDIA in creating photorealistic digital twins materialized in the AutomatedTrain project, launched in July 2023.

Its goal is to enhance the automation of train management, providing new possibilities for the development of intelligent railway systems in Germany.
