German transportation company Netinera (part of the national Italian railway holding FS Group) has issued a request for proposals for the delivery of up to 40 hybrid locomotives, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The rolling stock should be designed to operate on electrified lines at speeds of no less than 160 km/h and on non-electrified lines at speeds of no less than 140 km/h.

The diesel mode power should be at least 2 MW, and in electric mode, it should be no less than 2.4 MW.
