80% of companies assess the conditions of purchases of Rail Baltica positively. The joint venture Rail Baltica RB Rail AS conducted a global market survey with the aim of collecting feedback from current and future potential partners on the current state of the market, the impact of Covid-19, as well as recommendations for subsequent tenders for Rail Baltica projects.
A total of 77 companies from Europe and beyond took part in the survey. 80% of companies are positive about the conditions of purchases of Rail Baltica, according to the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to Rail Baltica.
The survey focused on the vision of material suppliers, service providers and contractors, taking into account the current market situation and short-term future scenarios. In addition, questions were raised about the terms of purchases and contracts to be implemented in the Rail Baltica project, with recommendations on the qualifications of bidders and the evaluation of tenders.
“About 80% of the respondents believe that the general purchasing conditions of Rail Baltica are acceptable, which gives positive feedback on their high quality. This is a very positive and high assessment, ”said Kristjan Piirsalu, purchasing director of RB Rail AS.
