Visitors are invited to evaluate the ergonomics of the cabin and submit feedback, which will help refine the design before production begins. This collaborative approach aims to provide an optimized passenger experience.
Each three-car train can carry 645 passengers, combining spacious interiors with efficient layouts. Siemens has integrated Railigent X, an intelligent system for predictive maintenance, ensuring uninterrupted operations and reducing service delays.
When Will Driverless Train Inspiro Hit the Tracks?
The first Driverless Train Inspiro units are set to begin production by the end of January. They will operate on a metro line linking St Marys Station to the upcoming Western Sydney Airport.
The metro line is slated for completion by late 2026, providing vital connectivity across Sydney’s growing metropolitan region. Siemens Mobility, as part of a consortium, leads the project’s development.
The €900 million contract includes delivering 12 trains, platform doors, and additional systems while maintaining the infrastructure for 15 years. This ensures consistent and reliable service throughout the project’s lifecycle.
Innovative and Sustainable Transit Solutions
Driverless Train Inspiro exemplifies a commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility. It incorporates eco-friendly technologies and modern standards to minimize its carbon footprint while maximizing efficiency.
This project underscores Siemens Mobility’s dedication to advancing urban transit systems with cutting-edge technology. The new metro line will serve as a benchmark for future sustainable transport initiatives.
