Starting from June 15, modern trains will run seven times a day on this route, replacing the old ICE trains.

This step aims to improve transport infrastructure and enhance passenger comfort during the large-scale sporting event.

The new ICE 3neo trains, supplied by the German company Siemens Mobility, can reach speeds of up to 320 km/h and are designed to accommodate 439 passengers, including 99 seats in first class and 340 seats in second class.

The trains provide facilities for passengers with limited mobility and areas for transporting bicycles.

The carriages ensure stable reception of cellular signals, making travel more comfortable and convenient for modern travelers.

This project is part of a major upgrade of DB’s train fleet, which by the European Championship will include 410 ICE trains.

During match days, Deutsche Bahn will offer about 10,000 additional seats on ICE and Intercity trains, and will also launch 14 special EM trains that will run daily, providing fans with a convenient and fast way to reach the match venues.

The first ICE 3neo train was put into operation in December 2022.

This new type of train, developed and manufactured by Siemens Mobility, is part of a framework agreement concluded in 2020, under which DB ordered 90 ICE 3neo trains.

Thanks to these innovative trains, travel conditions are significantly improved, offering passengers a more comfortable, faster, and reliable transport service.

The new high-speed trains will not only be a significant improvement for passengers but also an important contribution to the development of the transport infrastructure of Germany and the Netherlands.

The introduction of such trains helps reduce the load on motorways and decrease harmful emissions into the atmosphere, which meets modern environmental standards and requirements.
