The changes, detailed by The Indian Express, are part of an election-day travel plan designed to help polling personnel and deployed staff reach their assignments on time.

Delhi Metro is often described as the lifeline of the national capital, carrying heavy daily flows of passengers between Delhi, Noida, Dwarka and other areas. Its economical fares and generally reliable operations mean commuters routinely depend on it for work and everyday trips.

Under normal circumstances, Delhi Metro timings today follow a stable pattern, but the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) occasionally makes exceptions for special events — and the MCD bye-elections in 12 wards are one of those cases.

Delhi Metro timings MCD bye-elections: key dates and hours

For both the polling day on 30 November and the counting day on 3 December, Delhi Metro early-morning services will begin at 4 am. According to the State Election Commission, Delhi, this early start will be applied across all lines, corridors and terminal stations. The temporary timetable is meant to support staff on early shifts, so polling personnel and other deployed staff can make use of the metro from the very first departures.

Sunday schedule and last trains

On 30 November, which is a Sunday, trains will start running at 4 am from every terminal station. Between 4 am and 6 am, services will operate at 30-minute intervals, after which the system returns to the regular Sunday timetable. On that day, the last train will leave at 11.30 pm, extending closing time by 30 minutes compared with the usual Sunday schedule.

Counting day, Blue Line and weekday pattern

On 3 December, a Wednesday, the network follows a similar structure. Services will once again begin at 4 am, with trains every 30 minutes until 6 am. After 6 am, Delhi Metro timings switch back to the standard weekday timetable for all corridors. Blue Line services will mirror these Delhi Metro early-morning services: they also start at 4 am on both polling and counting days, keep the 30-minute frequency until 6 am and then continue under the normal weekday schedule.

How to check Delhi Metro travel time and routes?

For journey planning under the updated timetable, commuters can turn to the DMRC website and mobile app’s trip planner. These tools allow users to check Delhi Metro 4 am first train departures, see updated first and last train timings, review interchange options and estimate travel durations across the network.

Once the election-related dates have passed, Delhi Metro timings MCD bye-elections adjustments will no longer be in effect. The system will then run according to its regular daily timetable on all corridors. On a normal day, Delhi Metro timings today remain from 5 am to 11.30 pm, without the additional early-morning services introduced specifically for the polling and counting days.
