In the third round of negotiations with the transport union, EVG Deutsche Bahn submitted a much higher offer. It includes a 10% pay rise for people with low to moderate incomes, an 8% pay rise for people with higher incomes, and an additional €2,850 inflation bonus for everyone, Railway Supply magazine reports, citing Kurier Kolejowy.

However, EVG insists on preconditions and has rejected the new offer, saying it is not grounds for negotiation. Both negotiating committees moved on to internal consultations.

The average salary in DB in all occupational groups is 4,000 euros per month. Over the past ten years, wages in DB have increased by 26.5 percent, which is more than in the public sector (26.1%).
