In June, the new train, consisting of eight Viaggio Comfort passenger cars, began operating on the route between Prague and Bohumín.

Each car was designed according to modern standards of comfort and safety, providing passengers with maximum convenience during their journey.

However, currently, the train also includes an older model restaurant car. This temporary solution is due to delays in the delivery of new car models from manufacturers.

One of the main features of the new train is its speed.

Although its speed is currently limited to 200 km/h, the trains are equipped with a Siemens Vectron MS multisystem electric locomotive, capable of reaching speeds up to 230 km/h.

This feature offers the potential for further speed increases and reduced travel times in the future.

ČD’s plans for this year include receiving another eight eight-car ComfortJet trains.

This is just part of a large order placed in 2021, which includes 180 Viaggio Comfort cars.

These will be formed into 20 nine-car trains, each offering 99 first-class seats and 456 second-class seats.

The final deliveries and commissioning of the last train are scheduled for 2026.

The introduction of the new trains is an important step for the Czech national railway company.

It will not only improve passenger service quality but also increase route capacity, which is especially important given the growing demand for rail transport.

ComfortJet promises to become a symbol of new standards in railway transport in the Czech Republic.
