Where the route will run?

In practical terms, the planned cycle link is due to run between the Nynehead and Lillebonne Way roundabouts. Over time, it is expected to provide an off-road cycle link connecting the town centre with the Chelston roundabout.

Wellington new railway station plans and timeline

Wellington’s new railway station is anticipated to cost up to £20m and would be delivered to the north of the Lidl supermarket. Access is planned via a 161-home development, and the council’s planning committee is expected to make a final decision on that housing scheme in the spring.

The Somerset town has not had a station since the 1960s, but the new facility could be finished as soon as 2028. Network Rail is due to submit a separate application early in the new year for the station and associated infrastructure, with a vision of completion in 2028. Somerset Council also outlines its role on its Wellington Station page.
