Container terminal to boost TITR and Kazakhstan’s logistics
The terminal offers a full cargo handling cycle, including sorting, customs clearance, and inspection, with infrastructure in place for processing hazardous goods.
The container terminal serves as a key node in the Trans-Caspian route, linking Central Asia with the Caucasus and Europe. Kazakhstan aims to reinforce its position as a logistics hub in Eurasia.
On June 16, 2025, KTZ Express, Chinese firm YXE Trading Service Group, and JSC “Aktau International Sea Commercial Port” signed a memorandum of cooperation.

The agreement outlines plans to expand infrastructure and jointly fund the purchase of modern quay cranes designed to operate under strong wind conditions.
Terminal development aligns with Kazakhstan’s strategy to enhance regional transport connectivity. The country expects to see increased container flows and growing international interest in the TITR.
The second phase of the project is expected to significantly expand capacity, providing further incentives for trade routes between China and Europe.
