Authorities allocated PLN 2.8 billion ($702 million) for Poland’s Longest Rail Tunnel construction. The lowest bid was PLN 2.166 billion ($543 million), and the highest reached PLN 2.797 billion ($701 million).

The contract winner, to be announced by late 2025, will begin construction in 2026. High-speed trains through this tunnel will link Warsaw, Poznań, and Wrocław, cutting travel to Łódź to 40 minutes.

Over 2000 contract documents and 1000 inquiries demonstrate the project’s complexity and competitive nature. Officials will evaluate offers based on price (70%) and personnel qualifications (30%).

The tunnel, central to Poland’s “Y” rail project, will connect Warsaw, Łódź, and other key cities. Engineers will reinforce structural stability and ensure the project meets safety standards.
