07.06.2023
The rolling stock was manufactured at the factory in Tangshan under a contract signed in 2022, according to Railway Supply magazine, citing Rollingstock.
CRRC states that it took 7 months to create the vehicle.
The two-car tram-trains will be used for the tourist line between Volcan and Tilcara, with a length of 43 km and a maximum speed of 60 km/h.
The passenger cabin, featuring panoramic windows, is designed to accommodate 72 passengers, and the seats can rotate 180 degrees.

There is also the possibility of operating in a multiple-unit system, which will increase the capacity to 388 individuals. The driver’s cabs are located on both ends of the train.
The rolling stock is equipped with two lithium iron phosphate batteries with a capacity of 352 kWh, installed on the roof. Solar energy is planned to be used for charging.
CRRC is a prominent player in the Argentine market. In 2015, they supplied the country with 27 diesel trains, and in May, they won a tender for an additional 50 diesel trains.
