China to Invest in Logistics Park in Kazakhstan’s Abai Region

Chinese investors and Kazakh authorities agreed to build a logistics park in the Abai Region, signing deals worth $1.5 billion at the Great Altai conference. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
The partnership includes diode manufacturing, infrastructure upgrades, and projects in logistics, agriculture, and tourism. These initiatives aim to boost the region’s economic growth.

Logistics park project to attract global business
The new logistics park will improve transport connectivity with China and other countries. It is expected to enhance route capacity and strengthen the region’s transit potential.
The project will accelerate cargo delivery and create distribution opportunities. It will also facilitate the export of Kazakh goods to Asian markets.
Diverse investments expand regional development
The signed agreements include plans for semiconductor production, transport modernization, and tourism development. Each project is expected to generate jobs and attract further investment.
The parties also discussed agricultural cooperation and cultural exchange. Tourism routes will expand, and eco-friendly technologies will be introduced.
Currently, trade turnover between Abai Region and China stands at $287 million, with $256.9 million from exports. Compared to 2023, this figure has increased sixfold.
This growth confirms the region’s strategic importance and strengthens investor interest. The logistics park development marks a new phase of international cooperation.
