PKP Intercity has completed the bidding phase for qualifications for participation in the tender for the supply of 63 + 32 multisystem locomotives. China’s CRRC has submitted an application for this phase in a consortium with FPS H. Cegielski.

China is interested in supplying 95 locomotives to Poland

At the beginning of June 2021, PKP Intercity announced a tender for the supply of up to 95 (63 vehicles + 32 optionally) multisystem locomotives. The first stage of the competition was the submission of applications for admission to the procedure, which was closed on August 16, informs Railway Supply magazine.

The companies that have applied for participation in the tender:

  • PESA Bydgoszcz in consortium with ZNTK Mińsk Mazowiecki
  • NEWAG
  • Consortium of Bombardier Transportation Polska with Bombardier Transportation GmbH
  • CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co. Ltd. in consortium with Vossloh Locomotive (a company acquired by the Chinese giant)
  • Siemens Mobility Sp. z o. o in cooperation with Siemens Mobility GmbH.
  • Talgo
  • FPS H. Cegielski consortium with CRRC Datong Co. OOO

These companies will be invited to a competitive dialogue. The next step in the procedure will be the possibility of submitting bids for a tender, which is to take place in early 2022.
