The recent launch of a 94 km high-speed line connecting Meizhou and Longchuan in Guangdong Province has strengthened the country’s position as the world leader in high-speed rail, with 46,000 kilometers — accounting for 70% of the global high-speed rail network.

New Rail Route Between Klaipeda and Kyiv Discussed in Warsaw

Over the past year, the length of China’s railways increased by one thousand kilometers, including one thousand kilometers of high-speed lines.

Since 2012, China’s railway network has been growing at record speeds.

Approximately 3,000 kilometers of new high-speed lines are put into operation annually, resulting in a 64.2% increase in the overall railway length and a 392.2% increase in high-speed lines.

Today, 96% of China’s major cities, including Hong Kong, have access to high-speed rail, significantly reducing travel times between major metropolitan areas and boosting regional economic development.

On major routes, such as Beijing-Guangzhou and Beijing-Wuhan, trains run at speeds of up to 350 km/h.

The country has 20,000 kilometers of lines allowing speeds between 300 and 350 km/h, accounting for 43% of the entire high-speed rail network.

The remaining lines, stretching 26,000 kilometers, support speeds between 200 and 250 km/h, providing reliable and fast connections between regions.

New sections of railways are usually put into operation at the end of the year, highlighting the rapid infrastructure development and active renewal of the country’s transport network.
