China is accelerating innovation to boost high-quality growth and expand global cooperation, reflecting its strong commitment to technology-driven development and shared global progress. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
Recent reforms placed science and technology at the heart of China’s long-term strategy. During a press briefing on the 14th Five-Year Plan, officials reported that R&D investment rose nearly 50% since 2020, reaching $167 billion.

China remains the world’s largest manufacturing hub for 15 consecutive years, leading production in over 220 key sectors. R&D intensity hit 2.68%, approaching OECD standards, signaling robust momentum in research-driven progress.

China Advances Industrial and Space Achievements
Remarkable breakthroughs highlight the synergy between innovation and industry. Tiangong space station is fully operational, while Chang’e-6 returned samples from the far side of the moon, marking a historic milestone in space exploration.
Other successes include the Fujian aircraft carrier launch, the debut of the C919 jetliner, and the maiden voyage of Adora Magic City, the first domestically built large cruise ship. China also commissioned the world’s first fourth-generation nuclear plant.
China Expands Global Benefits and Partnerships
Infrastructure projects such as the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway and Budapest-Belgrade line improve connectivity and regional growth. Meanwhile, exports of electric vehicles, batteries, and solar products rose 12.7% in early 2024, accelerating the green transition.
China promotes inclusive space cooperation. It launched Egypt’s MISRSAT-2 and Pakistan’s Paksat MM1 while leading initiatives like the BRICS Satellite Constellation. Nearly 200 cooperation agreements now link China with over 50 nations.
The upcoming Chang’e-7 mission will carry instruments from countries including Egypt, Italy, and Switzerland. By aligning innovation with openness, China ensures science benefits all humanity and drives shared progress worldwide.
