The upgrade, part of the Queensland Rail Station Accessibility Upgrade Program, includes a new footbridge with lift access and full-length, high-level platforms. Passengers will benefit from enhanced security with updated CCTV and brighter lighting.

New features include accessible toilets, tactile ground indicators, improved seating, and extended platform shelters. The station also offers upgraded hearing augmentation loops and wayfinding signage for easier navigation.

Buranda Station now includes a disability-compliant ticket window, a designated accessible parking bay, and a refreshed station office with better facilities for staff and commuters alike.

The station closed in early 2024 for construction. During this period, trains passed through the station without stopping to allow uninterrupted service on the line.

From improved lighting to safer boarding access, Buranda Station now meets modern accessibility standards and ensures inclusive travel for all passengers. The upgrades also support long-term service goals for the region.

Buranda Station Reopening Set for June 30

Train services will resume scheduled stops at Buranda Station starting Monday, June 30. The last day of express-only service is Sunday, June 29, so passengers should adjust travel plans accordingly.

With its upgraded design, Buranda Station sets a benchmark for accessibility, convenience, and safety. Queensland Rail encourages commuters to take full advantage of the enhanced experience starting next week.
