Brightline West appears to have selected Siemens Mobility to supply rolling stock for its new project, choosing Siemens Mobility as the “preferred bidder”, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The project, connecting Southern California and Los Angeles with Las Vegas, Nevada, began construction in April. Siemens Mobility was chosen for its advanced transportation technologies.

The next-generation electric trains will feature modern digital systems and innovative high-speed technology.

The fleet of 20 electric trains will be based on the American Pioneer 220 trains, developed from successful Velaro models from Europe.

This decision underscores the commitment to comprehensive passenger service, including those with limited mobility.

The 30-year technical maintenance agreement will create jobs in Nevada and highlight the long-term partnership between Brightline West and Siemens Mobility.

It’s also noteworthy that Siemens Mobility will supply rolling stock for an existing line in Florida, emphasizing trust in their products and services.
