Azerbaijan Railway to build new marshalling yard

Azerbaijan Railways has announced a tender for the selection of a consultant to determine the possible location, type and size of the new marshalling yard.
The project is funded by the French Development Agency. The agency provided Azerbaijan with a loan of 112,500,000 euros for the construction of the Balajara (Baku IF) -Yegloma railway with a length of 348 km. One of the components of the project is the construction of a railway marshalling yard, informs Railway Supply magazine.
From January to April 2021 transit of containers between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan grew 2,8 times – 4,3 thousand. TEU
