The initial order comprises electric trains of three modifications designed for speeds up to 160 km/h.
Passenger comfort is ensured inside the carriages with amenities such as air conditioning, Wi-Fi, barrier-free access, charging outlets, spaces for skis and snowboards, as well as areas for wheelchairs and baby strollers.
It is noteworthy that the carriages will be adapted for ÖBB, including an increase in width and the use of classic Jacobs bogies.
The introduction of the new trains into operation is planned for the end of 2027.
The contract’s cost exceeds 800 million euros and includes various trains for local and long-distance services in different federal states and alpine regions.
Mireo trains feature aluminum bodies, compact SF7500 bogies, and the European train control system. This approach enhances passenger comfort, creating a modern and efficient means of transportation for the future.
