Australia Launches Rolling Stock Procurement Platform

According to the platform, the estimated value of all active procurements is 20.5 billion Australian dollars (13.5 billion USD).

The creation of this platform is part of the national rolling stock procurement and manufacturing strategy adopted by the Australian government in 2023.

Previously, the Australasian Railway Association (ARA) estimated that the lack of a consolidated national policy in this area cost state budgets about 1.85 billion Australian dollars (1.2 billion USD) over the past 10 years.
