Aurionpro Mumbai Metro AFC Order Covers Six Stations

INDIA: Aurionpro Solutions has received an approximately ₹50 crore Mumbai Metro Line 5 AFC contract covering six Phase I stations, extending its existing automated fare collection work for MMRDA.

An exchange filing dated July 30, 2026 says the additional mandate broadens Aurionpro’s work for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority after its earlier AFC contract for Metro Lines 4 and 4A. The latest scope is an end-to-end AFC deployment at six additional stations rather than a separate metro construction package.

The system covers the passenger-facing ticketing and fare-management layer at the stations. Aurionpro says it is intended to enable seamless ticketing and more efficient fare handling, while the announcement does not specify a deployment or commissioning date.

Six-station Phase I sits on the Thane–Bhiwandi corridor

MMRDA’s official Line 5 overview places the full Thane–Bhiwandi–Kalyan elevated corridor at 24.90 km and 15 stations. The authority previously defined Phase I as the 11.88 km Thane–Bhiwandi section with six stations: Balkum Naka, Kasheli, Kalher, Purna, Anjurphata and Dhamankar Naka.

The new AFC mandate therefore corresponds to the entire six-station Phase I package identified by MMRDA. For future riders, the practical change is that every Phase I station is now included in the contracted fare-collection scope. The order itself does not open the line or set a passenger-service date.

By extending the existing Lines 4 and 4A engagement, the contract gives Aurionpro another deployment within MMRDA’s network while keeping the present announcement focused on station ticketing. MMRDA remains responsible for the Line 5 project, and Aurionpro’s role under this order is the AFC technology package.
