Amtrak Expands Winter Park Express Service for More Convenient Travel to Colorado

Amtrak has announced expanded Winter Park Express service to meet rising demand for trips to Colorado. This was reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The U.S. national passenger rail operator Amtrak has announced an expansion of Winter Park Express service between Denver and Fraser. Due to the growing popularity of Winter Park Resort in Colorado, the train will start service earlier and offer more trips beginning December 2024.
Amtrak Expands Winter Park Express Service to Meet Growing Demand
In December 2024, Winter Park Express will operate on weekends: December 20–22 and December 27–29. The train will also be available from January 3–5, 2025. Starting January 9, 2025, Amtrak will increase the frequency of Winter Park Express trips to five times weekly: Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays.
High-Speed Rail Line Set to Transform Travel Between Las Vegas and California
The expanded schedule will continue through March 31, 2025, and will include 69 round trips, which is 29 more trips than last year. This increased service aims to meet high demand for travel to the popular ski resort, giving passengers a comfortable journey on trains specially equipped for skiers and snowboarders.
For added convenience, passengers can carry skis and snowboards without extra fees. Amtrak trains are equipped with reclining seats and ample legroom, ensuring a more comfortable travel experience. Passengers can enjoy a two-level car, which includes a panoramic observation deck on the upper level and a café on the lower level.
The train departs from Denver early in the morning at 7:00 a.m. and arrives at Winter Park at 9:11 a.m., then Fraser at 9:41 a.m. The return trip starts at 4:05 p.m. from Fraser, departing the resort at 4:35 p.m. and arriving in Denver at 7:05 p.m.
