The fleet consists of 8 state -of-art trainsets and 2 advanced locomotives built by Siemens in CA. The improvements are part of a larger investment through the federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

Hands-free controls for restrooms and brighter interior lighting are among the train features. Capable of carrying up to 300+ passenger per unit, these trains are designed to offer a far higher level of comfort and sense of space to every journey.

The next generation Airo trains from Siemens will be used in Amtrak Cascades as the first route in the U.S. This roll-out establishes the Pacific Northwest as a forerunner in environmentally friendly, customer-focused rail travel.
