Alstom has signed a €50 million contract in Florence

Alstom has signed a €50 million contract in Florence, Italy, for the construction of an 11 km tram line, including 24 stops, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
The Municipality of Florence (Città di Firenze) entered into this agreement with the French locomotive manufacturer Alstom for the development of tram infrastructure for the urban Line 4.2 project.
The initiative, funded by the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan, encompasses track construction, contact networks, substations, and lighting systems.
Line 4.2 aims to connect Le Piagge station with Campi Bisenzio, covering a distance of 5.3 km.
The contract also includes an option for a 6.3 km extension of Line 4.1 Piagge-Leopalda, costing €49 million ($53), linking Line 4.2 with the city center.
