All EU countries have closed their ports to Russian ships
22.04.2022
Ports of all EU countries closed access for Russian ships.
Head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak wrote about this in Telegram, informs Railway Supply magazine.
“The EU directive banning Russians has come into effect. It applies to all ships registered under the Russian flag, as well as to those who changed the registration of the Russian Federation after February 24,” the official said.
He also explained that there are exceptions. In particular, the decision will not apply to ships that have given an SOS (Mayday) signal. They will be taken individually.
“We will monitor how such exceptions are applied, and whether the Russian Federation uses them for detours against restrictions,” Andriy Yermak stressed.
As of April 17, it was reported that Russian ships did not have access to the ports of five European countries.
