2026 State Rail Plan is nearing completion as the Oklahoma Department of Transportation asks residents and stakeholders to review the latest draft before it is finalized.

2026 State Rail Plan and Oklahoma’s rail priorities
The document gives ODOT a framework for taking inventory of rail lines across the state and reviewing how those lines are used. It also looks at the role rail service plays in Oklahoma’s economy, while covering rail-service goals, safety improvement projects, possible infrastructure work and financing challenges.
According to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, the State Rail Plan addresses existing Oklahoma rail services, including both passenger and freight rail. The draft also identifies priority projects and helps position the state for federal funding processes.
