These locomotives are intended for use on routes between the ports of Belgium and the Netherlands, as well as terminals in Italy.

Amergin Rail is expanding its portfolio with the acquisition of a large number of rolling stock units

The XLoad equipment package is designed to improve the traction characteristics and enhance the efficiency of these electric locomotives.

It will enable BLS Cargo to operate trains with greater weight on alpine sections with steep gradients.

The delivery of these electric locomotives is scheduled for 2026.

Following this delivery, the Vectron locomotive fleet at BLS Cargo will reach 50 units.

This order is a continuation of contracts signed in 2015 and 2020 for the delivery of 40 electric locomotives.

BLS Cargo becomes the second operator in Switzerland to own locomotives equipped with XLoad equipment, following SBB Cargo International, which made a similar acquisition in 2022.
