The destroyed railway bridge in Irpin (a suburb of the capital of Ukraine) must be restored before May 8.

Restoration of railway bridge

Oleksandr Kamyshin, Chairman of the Board of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia, wrote about this in his Telegram channel, informs Railway Supply magazine.

To begin work on the restoration of the bridge, it was necessary to eliminate the consequences of the shelling on March 5. Then the Russian invaders damaged the railway near Irpin and disrupted the evacuation of the civilian population from the suburbs of Kyiv. In addition, two carriages derailed.

Currently, the upper structure of the track has been restored, and the wagons have been raised. The next stage begins – the restoration of the railway bridge.

“The work here
is for three months, but the chairman of the board of UZ said to do it in a month – we will do it in a month. As soon as the bridge was cleared, people of different professions came here themselves, they said: let’s do something, we need to restore traffic. There is also Bucha, Borodianka, there is so much to build, and without a railway, construction materials cannot be provided. Let’s do it. The main thing is that we are winning, we will be winning and we will have won!” – said the head of the regional branch of the “South-Western Railway” Andrey Bukin.
