Since the beginning of 2024, Kazakhstan Railways has increased tariffs for services on the main railway network by 5%, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Additionally, KTZ Freight Transportation (a subsidiary of Kazakhstan Railways) has applied for a 35% tariff increase for locomotive traction services.

Kazakhstan Railways has also submitted an application to modify the maximum tariff index for export shipments and the empty mileage of wagons, traveling to and from Kazakhstan’s railway stations through border crossings and seaports—increasing by 3.89 times in 2024 and 4.42 times in 2025.

It’s worth noting that in 2023, railway freight tariffs in Kazakhstan increased three times: 5% for main railway network services on January 1, 2023, and 28.4% on April 27, 2023, and 11.4% for locomotive traction services on November 6, 2023.
