From November 15 to 17, in the city of Targu Neamt, Romania, the delegation of CFM took part in the work of the railway commission of the national railway transport companies of Romania and Moldova. It is reported by Railway Supply magazine with reference to the operator.

CFM

In order to improve railway cooperation between CFM and the three Romanian railway companies CFR SA, CFR marfă, CFR călători, during working meetings, the parties agreed on a joint action plan for the development of railway infrastructure for the next year.

It was decided to extend the lines with a gauge of 1520 mm from the Sokola station to the Iasi station. Parallel to the existing line from Ungheni Prut station to Sokola station, an additional line 1520 mm wide will be built, which will be used for both freight and passenger traffic.

In order to optimize the delivery time of goods and reduce the number of crossings, the possibility for CFM to transport mixed freight trains, with grouping of wagons in the train and separate preparation of wagons, was agreed with private Romanian railway operators. This will increase the capacity for receiving and delivering wagons and cargo to Romania and Moldova.

The increase in wagon traffic for the delivery of fuel through the border crossings between Romania and the Republic of Moldova will increase by 10-15%. Thus, transported volumes will be increased and delivery times will be reduced.

The agenda also included the analysis and discussion of such topics as train schedules, reduction of wagon parking time and locomotive schedules. Difficulties arising in the activities of border stations, as well as aspects related to the development of passenger traffic were also considered.
