Alstom Salzgitter plant received several large orders for the production of electric trains

30 Alstom Coradia Nordic trains in a six-car configuration (order of the Norwegian carrier Norske Tog) will be produced on the German site of the manufacturer.
The value of the “hard” part of the contract was 380, it also includes an option to supply up to 200 trains for almost €1.8 billion. The start of deliveries is scheduled for 2025. It is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to Alstom.
Also there will be produced 13 four-car and four five-car Alstom Coradia Stream trains (head cars will be single-deck, intermediate cars will be double-deck) for the German carrier DB Regio at the plant in Salzgitter. The capacity of four-car trains will be 420 passengers, five-car trains – 540 passengers. The new fleet should be put into operation at the end of 2024.
The Alstom site in Salzgitter specializes in the development and production of electric and diesel trains, as well as Coradia iLint hydrogen trains and rolling stock bogies.
