The Subcommittee on Railway Transport of the Ukrainian Parliament’s Committee on Transport and Infrastructure reviewed several legislative proposals, this is reported by the railway transport news portal, Railway Supply.

Railway Transport Legislation in Ukraine

On Monday, October 23, a meeting was held by the Subcommittee on Railway Transport of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Transport and Infrastructure.

During the session, members of parliament considered, discussed, and made the following decisions:

– The draft law amending the law of Ukraine “On the Features of Forming a Public Joint-Stock Company for General-Purpose Railway Transport” (No. 9613) – accepted as the basis.

– The draft law amending certain Ukrainian laws to enhance safety in railway transport (No. 9066) – accepted as the basis.

– The draft law amending the Ukrainian Criminal Code and the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses to strengthen accountability for interference with railway transport activities (No. 9067) – accepted as the basis.

– The draft law amending the law of Ukraine “On the Fundamentals of Social Protection of Persons with Disabilities in Ukraine” to provide additional guarantees for the rights of persons with disabilities (No. 9388) – returned for further revision.

It’s worth noting that the meeting was attended by Vyacheslav Eremin, a member of the board of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia,” Vladimir Slipenkiy, Chairman of the board of CJSC “Kyiv-Dnipro Interbranch Industrial Railway Transport Enterprise,” as well as representatives from the Ministry of Recovery, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police, and the Ministry of Social Policy.

The Committee on Transport and Infrastructure plans to consider the mentioned legislative proposals at its upcoming session, as indicated in the statement.
