EP Cargo has established a new reloading terminal near the Slovak-Ukrainian border in Vojany
According to Valeriy Tkachev, the deputy director of the commercial department of Ukrzaliznytsia, 2,304 thousand tons of cargo were transported through the Slovak border crossings in the first four months of 2024.
This is 245 thousand tons less than during the same period last year.
The decrease was mainly due to a reduction in the transfer of grain cargoes, from 256 thousand tons to 76 thousand tons.
There was also a decrease in the number of ore wagons crossing the border, from 1,902 thousand tons to 1,788 thousand tons.
Additionally, a decline in the transfer of ferrous metals was noted, amounting to 28 thousand tons. In January-April 2023, 77 thousand tons of this cargo were transferred, compared to 49 thousand tons in the same period of 2024.
As reported earlier, grain transfer volume by rail to Slovakia increased in May.
