Windhoff Introduced the MPV VentuS Type GAF Railcar

The manufacturer developed a modular design for the rolling stock, offering customers various configurations. The primary traction is provided by a diesel engine, and different cab and crane options are available. The vehicle is capable of transporting rails, sleepers, track switches, and other components.

The four-axle railcar was showcased at the InnoTrans 2024 exhibition, attracting interest from railway industry professionals. The development is intended for Deutsche Bahn’s infrastructure division, which handles track maintenance.

Windhoff Certification and Supply Prospects

The company Windhoff signed a contract with the German operator in 2022, including an option for additional units. The operator may purchase up to nine more vehicles if the initial models perform successfully.
