Progressive Railroading has launched an initiative celebrating women transforming the railroad industry. The “Woman of Influence in Rail” program recognizes achievements in five impactful categories. This was reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Celebrating the Woman of Influence in Rail Across Industries

The categories include leadership, innovation, mentorship, technology, and sustainability, ensuring all areas of influence are recognized. Railroad companies can nominate female employees excelling in these fields through December 31.

This initiative highlights women making meaningful impacts on their companies and the broader rail industry. Companies may submit up to five nominations, allowing one nominee per category for consideration.

How to Nominate Your Woman of Influence in Rail

Eligible nominees include women employed by North American Class Is, short lines, regionals, passenger railroads, or rail industry suppliers. Contractors, product manufacturers, and engineering firms working with railroads are also encouraged to participate.

Honorees will be unveiled on February 2, 2025, through Progressive Railroading’s Daily News. They will also receive recognition online, in print, and during a virtual ceremony scheduled for March 2025.
