The opening of the center is marked as a key milestone in enhancing Wabtec’s technological capabilities in the region. It will employ 50 highly qualified engineers and technologists focused on developing next-generation environmentally friendly technologies.
These innovations aim to improve the efficiency and environmental sustainability of locomotives, marking a significant step within the company’s global environmental initiative.
The center’s main focus is also on integrating intelligent digital technologies into locomotives, which will significantly enhance automation levels and operational efficiency.
Collaboration with local universities contributes to the development of young specialists and ensures future staffing needs in the innovative industry.
Kazakhstan, becoming a hub for locomotive production and service in the region thanks to Wabtec’s investments, has already established strong positions in the railway equipment supply and modernization market.
Furthermore, the establishment of the service hub “Astana Diesel Service” (ADS) demonstrates the company’s commitment to strengthening its leadership in customer service throughout the CIS.
The opening of Wabtec’s Technological and Engineering Center in Astana confirms not only Kazakhstan’s strategic importance for the company but also its readiness for long-term innovative development in the region.
