Founded in 1934, Bloom Engineering operates globally with headquarters in Pittsburgh and facilities in Germany, India, and China. The company holds over 80 patents, highlighting its leadership in combustion systems and furnace technologies.
Wabtec Expands Global Presence with New Innovations and Investments
Wabtec’s investment aligns with its strategy to modernize industrial systems while addressing sustainability challenges. The acquisition improves its ability to support energy efficiency and emissions control solutions.
In addition to the Bloom acquisition, Wabtec advanced its portfolio through several major deals last year. In October 2024, it secured a $405M agreement to supply locomotives to Kazakhstan’s national railway.
Wabtec also introduced brake lining systems designed to reduce particulate emissions in metro stations and tunnels. These advancements highlight its focus on cleaner, more sustainable rail technologies.
Further expanding its global footprint, Wabtec opened a new manufacturing plant in Rohtak, India. The facility produces rail components like brake systems and actuators, enhancing production capacity.
