Vossloh Secures Contract for Rail Fastenings on High-Speed Line HS2
27.01.2025
Vossloh signed a €30 million contract with PORR to supply rail fastening systems for HS2. Deliveries will take place from 2025 to 2027, supporting the project’s timely completion. This was reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Vossloh Plays Key Role in Major European Infrastructure Project
HS2 is one of Europe’s largest infrastructure initiatives, aiming to modernize the UK’s rail system. Trains on the HS2 line will reach speeds of 360 km/h, reducing travel time between London and Birmingham from 82 minutes to 45 minutes. Completion of the project is expected by 2033, marking a milestone in the country’s rail modernization efforts.

The HS2 line follows the success of HS1, which connects London to the Channel Tunnel. This second high-speed rail line positions the UK as a leader in innovative rail transport solutions.
Vossloh and PORR Collaborate to Advance HS2
In 2020, PORR partnered with Aggregate Industries to secure a £260 million contract for designing and constructing slab track sections for HS2. This demonstrated PORR’s expertise in handling large-scale infrastructure projects.
With Vossloh providing advanced rail fastenings and PORR delivering world-class construction, the HS2 project is expected to offer sustainable, efficient transportation for decades. Their joint efforts ensure the project meets its ambitious goals, benefiting passengers and reducing environmental impact.
