On June 22, 2023, at the Eurasia Rail international exhibition in Istanbul, the German company Voith introduced a digital freight coupler system called DAC, which will be utilized by one of the Turkish rail transport operators, as reported by Railway Supply magazine.

The main objective of implementing this coupler is to enhance safety for train assemblers while simultaneously increasing productivity.

Coupling SA-3 – for connecting rolling stock elements together

This is achieved, in part, through the automatic connection of brake air pipes and electrical contacts for power supply and data transmission.

A notable feature of the presented DAC coupler is the simplified module for automatic connection of electrical contacts.
